National Citizen Service Temporary Posts, June-August 2019

Young Somerset are recruiting staff to deliver our National Citizen Service (NCS) programmes during the summer season.  NCS aims to support participants’ personal and social development and help them develop the confidence, skills and attitudes they need to take on active roles in their communities and develop themselves for their own future. 

The NCS programme is four weeks long - two of which are residential based (all Monday-Friday)

Programmes start 24th June, 1st July, 8th July, 15th July.

NCS Wave Leader:  £1,650-£1,750 per programme depending on experience. Click here for Word doc.

Wave Leaders will be responsible for leading a wave of up to 110 young people (split into teams of 15).  Wave Leaders will work closely with Team Leaders and the NCS management team and will be responsible for the successful and safe delivery of the programme.  Wave Leaders will be experienced in leading projects with young people and in managing residential programmes and overseeing the safeguarding of young people. 

 

NCS Team Leader:  £1,200-£1,350 per programme depending on experience. Click here for Word doc.

Team Leaders will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of 15 young people to successfully complete the programme which comprises a team building residential, a community awareness phase, social action planning and delivery and fundraising.  Team Leaders will have at least 1 years’ experience of working with young people.  

 

NCS Assistant Team Leader:  £995 per programme. Click here for Word doc.

Assistant Team Leaders will be responsible for supporting the Team Leader, to enable a team of 15 young people to complete the NCS programme.  This role includes building relationships with young people, being a positive role model and supporting the team to successfully complete the programme.  Assistant Team Leaders will have some experience of working with young people. 

 

All posts are subject to enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references. 

Interviews will be held on the evenings of Thursday 10th Jan, Wednesday 6th Feb, Wednesday 6th March and Wednesday 17th April.  Appointments to be made on a first come, first served basis. 

 

All appointments will be expected to attend an NCS Training Weekend in Somerset on 18th and 19th May
