We are looking for two Targeted Youth Workers to join our growing and innovative team at Young Somerset, delivering services across Somerset for young people aged 8-25.

One role will be to support our core youth work programme and the other as part of our Alternative Learning Provision Team, enabling the development of young people through our services, to gain positive outcomes.

Your engagement will be with hard-to-reach young people and targeted young people. Your role will be to develop their interpersonal skills, build resilience, empower better life choices and identify and support them to overcome barriers that prevent them reaching their potential.

This role will include a combination of 1:1 work, small group work, outreach/detached and work with schools.

Travel across Somerset is required for this role you will need to hold a current driving licence. You’ll also be expected to work evenings and some weekends, therefore flexibility is also essential.

Salary: £21,528

Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months

Job Title: Targeted Youth Worker - Alternative Learning Provision (ALP)

The role will include a combination of 1:1 work, small group work, and the delivery of alternative learning programmes in one (or more) of three vocational areas: land-based/ conservation; mechanics/light engineering or construction.

For this role you will need experience of delivering a range of interventions to achieve outcomes for young people through effective use of resources and targeted delivery, and experience and a minimum Level 3 qualification in your vocational specialism.
