In line with the governments drive to increase access to early intervention for mental health services, Young Somerset is commissioned by the Somerset CCG to deliver early intervention Wellbeing and Mental Health services across the county. Our practitioners are trained in low intensity CBT and psychoeducation approaches working in school settings. Applicants will need a Post-Graduate Diploma in CYP IAPT Low Intensity CBT. We are currently working and delivering services virtually but aim to have a mix of digital and face to face work in the future. We welcome applications from suitably qualified practitioners. The Somerset MHST (Mental Health Support Team) in Taunton and the Mendips is expanding to include South Somerset and the Sedgemoor areas of Somerset. Phase one of the expansion is live from the 1st March 2021. Somerset’s MHST service is jointly delivered by Young Somerset (EMHP’s) and Somerset Foundation Trust CAMHS. Young Somerset also work in partnership with Somerset’s Education Psychology Service and Public Health. The service provides psychoeducation and a whole school approach to health and wellbeing through low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy, as part of CYP IAPT principles; to increase children’s, young people, parents and guardian’s access to early mental health services. This position will be within our Mental Health support team for Schools in South Somerset. The post holder will join an existing trainee team (3 EMHP colleagues) as part of the Somerset-wide service. In line with the governments drive to increase access to early intervention for mental health services, Young Somerset is commissioned by the Somerset CCG to deliver early intervention Wellbeing and Mental Health services across the county. Applicants will need a Post-Graduate Certificate in CYP IAPT Low Intensity CBT. We are currently working and delivering services virtually but aim to have a mix of digital and face to face work in the future. We welcome applications from suitably qualified practitioners. As a Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) you will be fully qualified to assess and support children and young people (5 – 18 years old) with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, particularly relating to anxiety, depression and behavioural difficulties. As a CWP you will be part of a wider team covering Somerset offering a range of low intensity interventions that are based on cognitive behavioural therapy and guided self-help. At Young Somerset our CWPs work with a large number of children, young people and their families. Interventions are delivered via, online video link, telephone or face to face (when restrictions allow) either one to one or in groups. As a qualified CWP you will liaise with a range of agencies including GPs, Education and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and will receive both clinical supervision and line management.
