Are you looking for a rewarding career that allows you to make a difference and put young people first?

Do you currently work with young people in other settings and want to find out more about the positive impact that you could have as a Youth Worker?

Are you looking for a role that allows you to collaborate with an innovative team that always goes further?

Due to the continued growth of our Alternative Provision and Outdoor Learning teams, Young Somerset are looking to recruit a Youth Worker with experience of working with children and young people in outdoor settings, groups, alternative education and some mentoring on a 1:1 basis.

This role would suit those from an environmental education, or youth work background or somebody working in the environmental or conservation sector but with experience of working with young people.

We are looking for people who have experience of working with young people in a variety of outdoor/community/education settings, who have empathy and an understanding of the key challenges young people in Somerset face. A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (such as Youth and community work, social care or education) is required (or commitment to work towards one).

We are currently operating through a blend of digital and face to face work. However, this is a role that will be predominately working directly with young people. This will involve also require some countywide travel.

Please read the job description here, along with Young Somerset’s competency framework.
