What is Bold & Brave?

Bold & Brave is Young Somersets ‘enterprise’ brand, providing young people with real-world opportunities to gain skills, confidence, and experience in retail, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.

Bold & Brave creates a space where young people can showcase their talents, develop their potential, and engage with the community.

Supported Internships

For young adults aged between 16 – 25 years of age with an EHCP – Join our supported internship. This is a 9-month programme held in partnership with Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L) where our Young Adults will gain experience in hospitality, business, retail, customer services and digital skills whilst having support from our team of Job Coaches.

Somerset Skills & Learning will work with our interns one day a week to work on employability skills with the potential to gain qualifications in food hygiene, customer service, manual handling and digital skills.

 

How and When to Apply?

Bold & Brave Shops and Café

The Bold & Brave shops and cafés opened to support the development of our supported interns but in doing so has become a key part of Young Somerset’s wider strategy to support the Youth of Somerset.

The shop sells products created by young entrepreneurs and local businesses, while the café provides barista training and work experience for young people pursuing careers in hospitality.

Come and enjoy a cup of coffee, volunteer in our charity shops or choose us as your destinations for buying your gifts throughout the year knowing that by doing so you are supporting the growth and development of a Young Adult in your community.
