Somerset County Council recently teamed up with Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) to deliver fun activities and healthy food to nearly 1,800 children over the Easter holidays, and plans are in place to significantly expand this offer for the upcoming summer holidays.

This is part of the Government programme, the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme and is funded by the Department for Education. SASP is coordinating the programme and managing the grant making process.

• 4 weeks throughout Summer
• Access as little as 1 day to 16 days
• 80 venues offering face to face provision
• For children aged 5 – 16 years
• Activities include sports, music workshops, crafts and more – with food!
• Places for around 6,000 young people
• For families with children who are accessing benefits-related free school meals
• Also days out for the whole family!
