Visitors Young Somerset has a legal duty of care for health, safety and wellbeing of all staff, children and young people we work with. This duty of care incorporates the duty to safeguard everyone from harm or abuse. Young Somerset recognises that there can be no complacency where safeguarding procedures where safeguarding is concerned. Young Somerset requires that ALL VISITORS (without exception) comply with the following procedure. Where possible all visits are pre-arranged with a member of Young Somerset Staff. You will be asked to provide identification and sign the visitor book on arrival and departure. Unknown/ unplanned visitors Any visitor to either Young Somerset's office, a Young Somerset led activity or who is on a school site (who is unknown to the school staff) should be challenged politely to enquire who they are and their business at the office / activity. In the event the visitor refuses to comply with our registration procedure above, they will be asked to leave the site immediately and Senior Leadership Team / CEO informed promptly. The Senior Leadership Team / CEO will consider the situation and decide if it is necessary to inform the police. If an unknown / uninvited visitor becomes abusive or aggressive, they will be asked to leave the site immediately and warned that if they fail to leave police assistance will be called for.
